Andrew Gray Appointed to Adjunct Faculty at SMU’s Dedman School of Law

The Faculty Appointments Committee of Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law has approved the appointment of Champion LLP associate Andrew Gray (J.D., SMU Law, 2020) as an adjunct professor for the current academic year. Gray will provide instruction and guidance to teams of law students competing in interscholastic advocacy competitions, covering a wide range of topics, including:

  • Understanding trial procedures.
  • Developing case theories and themes.
  • Crafting and delivering opening statements and closing arguments.
  • Conducting witness cross-examination.
  • Utilizing the rules of evidence.

Gray has been coaching and mentoring SMU Law students since spring 2021, and his appointment to the adjunct faculty is retroactive to the 2023-2024 academic year. Gray also regularly volunteers as a judge for various mock trial and moot court competitions.

As a student at SMU Law, where he graduated cum laude, Gray earned numerous prestigious distinctions, successfully competed on several mock trial teams and was highly involved in multiple student organizations.

While serving on SMU Law’s adjunct faculty, Gray will remain a commercial and civil litigation attorney at Champion LLP, where he represents businesses and individuals in complex and commercial disputes and employment matters.
